The Long View
Once shelter in place took hold, Needle reunited to work on a new batch of music. Some of these songs have been around for awhile and some are newer. In the same way that a dormant desert seed has known water will eventually come, The Long View is about awakening from a long slumber and reclaiming oneself after being lost and forgotten on the outskirts.
We enlisted Dana Colley (Morphine, Twinemen, Vapors of Morphine) to play saxophone on a few tracks and Kramer (Low, Galaxie 500, Daniel Johnston) once again mastered the project.

Saint Timothy's
In a small isolated California high desert town, with the keys to a lovely church next door, free to go in whenever, Saint Timothy's emerged. Written from a very solitary place like a private journal, these seven songs are as sparse as a simple prayer. Concepts of grief, searching and starting over, then longing for redemption are told with an old pipe organ, haunting vocals and a selection of keyboards and pianos.
Saint Timothy's was mastered by Kramer of Low and Galaxie 500 fame.

Songs Your Mother Never Sang You
Needle’s debut CD blends low-fi minimalist arrangements with a collection of lullabies and symphonic sagas. Described as “a gentle, mellifluous exploration of the aural netherworld” by Pop Culture Press, Needle strives for honesty in its music, keeping where possible early takes marked by inspiration. Acoustic guitars and distortion, analog synthesizers, old time pianos along with toy xylophones and a cocktail drum helped shape these songs of battles won, souls sucked in, and hands held up in surrender. Included on the CD is a dreamlike remake of Neil Young’s “Helpless”.
